Everyday thousands of tons of outdated, or un-needed, toxic electronic products get discarded.  When not recycled properly, most of them end up poisoning the very earth, air, water, and food that we need to survive.

These poisons include many toxic heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury, phosphorous, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other harmful materials, all of which are considered toxic and hazardous to human health and the environment. These E-Waste Toxins account for many of the illness's people suffer from worldwide today.

Also, when electronic items are discarded, and not recycled, more energy is used to replace these wasted raw materials then if simply recycled.  Recycling uses less energy, causes less pollution,  and has less harmful global warming side effects.  Printers and Ink cartridges for example are virtually 100% recyclable, yet 95% of them end up in landfill sites where it can take parts of them over 1000 years to decompose. That's not good. Landfills pollute, and cost tax dollars, your Dollars. The ink cartridge alone takes takes 2.5 ounces of petroleum to make, and a pop cans equivalent of aluminum in that printer is like six ounces of wasted gasoline energy. So, if you complain at the gas pump, think about that each time you fill up.

This is a fast moving, harmful cycle, that is catching up with all of us very quickly.  You can help reverse this process today, by sending any unwanted electronic products you have to EarthSavers.us for recycling that we accept . See Recycle List.

Still not convinced?  It takes only 5% of the energy required to make aluminum from scrap, than from raw materials.  This means you can run your laptop for more than 10 hours on the saved electricity from the equivalent of just one recycled beer or soda can.  And there are more than just a couple soda cans of aluminum in your old computer.  Now think about the plastics, lead, copper, zinc, steel, tin, and other scrape metals in that old computer too.

This means you make a positive measurable difference, when you recycle your E-Waste. It's reflected in fewer smoke stacks poisoning the air we breath, and the water we drink. It means less destructive mining and toxic refining of the earth we grow our food in, and also helps reduce our petroleum dependency the world is at war over.  You help move the world in a better direction.

Now, retrieving these small pieces of recyclable scrap from you old equipment can be a very time consuming, laborious task, requiring special tools and techniques, but we do the work for you, so you don't have to.  It doesn't get much better than that.  And you helped contribute to a better, cleaner world, now and for the future.

Plus, EarthSavers.us can repair, or redirect, components back into the marketplace, or disassemble for proper recycling what is not reusable.  Also, we will securely, and confidentially, destroy any data contained on hard drives or the like by the best methods available.  We are all on this planet together, and it's the only one we got.  It's important!.  So, help us, help you, recycle.
